Two Car Garage Sizes & Models

SteelMaster’s two-car garages usually range between 20 – 30 wide with average lengths of 20 – 30 feet. Additional length can be added later on if more space is needed with the purchase of additional arches.

Short answer: it depends on the size!

As mentioned in the name, a two car garage will comfortably fit two vehicles. However, larger sizes like 24 X 24, 24 X 30, and 30 X 30 can provide additional storage for tools/equipment and room for activities.

A 30×40 garage is preferred if you’d like additional storage. It provides room for up to four vehicles or oversized vehicles with extra space that can be tailored to your needs.

24×24 garages are chosen because they are smaller-sized garages that can still fit oversized or larger vehicles. If people have the space, they typically prefer a 30×40, but if space is more limited, a 24×24 is the next best choice.

Large two-car garage sizes: Garages that have both dimensions between 30 to 40 feet.

Medium two-car garages: Garages that have one dimension that is between 30 to 40 feet.

Small two-car garages: Garages with both dimensions below 30 feet

At a minimum, you want a 20×20 garage, and anything over 40×40 is considered a three-plus-car or oversized garage.

The exact length and width needed depend on the size of the vehicles you want to store, whether or not you need additional storage or workshop space and your plans for the garage building.
