24 x 30 Metal Garage Kit

24 x 30 Metal Garage Kit

24 x 30 two-car garages are a good compromise between smaller 20×20 garages and bigger 30×40 garages. With almost 1,000 square feet of space, these garages can accommodate larger vehicles, like trucks or RVs and still provide you with some extra storage or workshop space.

You can choose one of four Quonset model types based on the look or engineering requirements of your location. Garage doors and endwalls can be purchased from SteelMaster or custom-built with local materials.

24 x 30 x 14 Purchase & Construction FAQs

Will my garage meet code and load requirements?

Yes, every garage sold includes a state-stamped blueprint that is reviewed and approved by our engineering staff to ensure it meets your specific code and load requirements. This blueprint can also be part of your permitting application if applicable.

Can I add space to my garage in the future?

Yes, a 24 x 30 garage can become a 30 x 30 or 60 x 30 by adding arches to your building. Quonset huts can be assembled, disassembled, and expanded while still being some of the strongest buildings on the planet.

What's the best endwall option for my garage?

Endwalls are a mix of aesthetics, function, and budget considerations. Quonset huts are self-supporting, meaning no endwalls are needed for your Quonset garage; however, most customers decide to either build or purchase endwalls.

First, determine the importance of keeping costs minimal versus getting the look you want. Most of our customers choose to save money by building their own custom endwalls with local materials, but some opt for one or two steel endwalls offered by SteelMaster for an additional cost.

Does SteelMaster build my garage for me?

No, SteelMaster doesn’t provide any construction labor in building your garage. However, should you have concerns about constructing the building yourself, SteelMaster will talk you through other options so that when the building arrives you have a clear idea of how you’ll get it constructed. Additionally, SteelMaster offers customer support to you after the building gets delivered.

Can I add an extra story or loft to my garage?

Yes. Because the Quonset hut acts as both the structural support and outer shell of your garage, the interior has 100% usable space. You can add an upstairs, an attic for storage, a loft, or a mezzanine level. If you plan on doing so, be sure to mention this to your building specialist so they can help you determine the appropriate height to accommodate your garage plans.

Can I paint my Quonset garage?

Yes.  If you choose to paint your building and are not using a primer, it is recommended to use high gloss water-based, self-priming 100% acrylic paint. However, every SteelMaster garage is coated with an anti-corrosive coating, Galvalume Plus, so painting is not required.
