Behind the Steel: Building the SteelMaster Brand
In 1982, it all started with a bold assumption and a passion for helping people.
The founders of SteelMaster Buildings knew that if they could empower individuals and companies of all sizes to construct their own buildings from the ground up, this could be a game changer in the industry.
They were right.
This literally put the power into the people’s hands to easily take control of their own building projects without the help of a middleman.
Initially, this appeared to be a daunting task, but SteelMaster’s internal business structure, unmatched customer service, quality products and proven track record of success are all things that have earned us a place among some of the most trusted companies in the world.
SteelMaster Buildings has served over 40,000 customers worldwide, and we have distributors in over 50 countries.
Where’s the magic in a SteelMaster Building?
SteelMaster’s super strong, durable buildings are a combination of a time-tested design and modern innovation. We took the classic strength and beauty of the arch, combined it with commercial grade steel, and simplified the building process to create our amazing collection of steel structures.
Our prefabricated steel arches are some of the strongest and most versatile in the industry. Every day, our customers come to us with a variety of different needs, and our steel arches are built to accommodate any request.
We have provided buildings to customers who want to build garages, sheds, workshops, carports, airplane hangars, RV storage facilities, and even homes with our arches.
One of the most important factors that sets SteelMaster Buildings apart from any other steel building company is our unique ability to handle larger, more complex design concepts.
SteelMaster’s arches have been a major part of some of the most spectacular commercial designs in the country including the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, American Energy Partners Fitness Center in Oklahoma City, the Museum of Modern art in New York as well as every branch of the United States government.
SteelMaster’s buildings have also been used as relief shelters after deadly natural disasters abroad. Our buildings have helped citizens in South Sudan, Haiti, as well as the Philippines after citizens there were devastated when Mother Nature destroyed whole villages and towns.
What’s the secret to SteelMaster’s success?
SteelMaster has a talented team of seasoned professionals who are sensitive to the needs of our commercial clients. They understand that these kinds of multifaceted projects can take time, patience, and a certain kind of expertise to complete successfully.
When a customer buys a SteelMaster product, they are not just purchasing a building; it’s an opportunity for innovation.
Not only are we known for the larger projects, we also make it easy enough for someone on a more modest budget to complete as well.
Virtually anyone can take a simple SteelMaster building kit, a few nuts and bolts, a little ingenuity and they can build any kind of structure the imagination can dream up.
We have been recognized numerous times for our efforts both domestically and internationally. In 2012, the Small Business Administration honored us as the 2012 Virginia exporter of the year for our contributions to the American economy. Over the last several years alone, we have enjoyed at least 75% growth companywide. We were named one of America’s fastest growing, privately held companies by Inc. Magazine in 2013.
We have also earned nationwide recognition for our prefabricated steel arches. SteelMaster’s container cover roofing system won the top prize for the best metal roofing in Metal Construction News. We were selected as one of the top companies in Virginia for retail/wholesale by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Commonwealth of Virginia honored us with the Compass Award for excellence in International Trade.
Despite our enormous success and zest for future growth, we don’t see ourselves merely as a company that sells a product; it’s about building trust, building relationships, and building a global community, one steel building at a time.
