Brewery & Winery Buildings

Vineyard, Brewery & Distillery Buildings For Storage & Production

If you’re looking for a building that’s pleasing to the eye but also durable enough to stand up to the work that goes into beverage production, a SteelMaster Quonset hut is your best bet.

We offer commercial-grade solutions, as well as options for backyard brewers and wine enthusiasts.

A Cost-Effective Solution For Beverage Production

Starting your brewery, distillery or winery can already be an expensive endeavor. So if you can save on building costs, usually one of the most expensive parts of beverage production, it makes a huge difference on your balance sheet.

A study from Washington State University found that operating a winery costs between nearly $600,000 and $2.3 million depending on its size. The study showed that building and land costs accounted for the largest percentage of total investment costs.

Here are some of the ways a SteelMaster building can save your business money before you even open your doors.

Fast construction
The cost of a SteelMaster structure is typically lower than a traditional style building due to ease of construction, which can lower labor costs. Our prefab arches are pre-punched and pre-drilled and only require one size nut and bolt.
Low Maintenance
Another benefit of owning a SteelMaster Quonset hut is low maintenance costs. Our arches are coated with Galvalume Plus, which helps to prevent rusting and basic wear and tear on the building, decreasing maintenance costs.
Expandable
As your business expands, you building can too! Additional arches can add extra square footage to help accommodate additional food and beverage production, dining areas, or both.

Buildings Designed for Your Industry

One of the biggest advantages of owning a SteelMaster building is the fact that it can be customized to fit your size requirements.

In a typical winery, two-thirds of the square footage was dedicated to production and storage while a third is used for non-wine production related activities. SteelMaster’s metal Quonset huts have an open floor plan, something many existing structures do not offer, especially if you’re renting out a space. This means winery, brewery and distillery owners design the layout of the entire building.

Microbreweries and production breweries often need additional ceiling height to accommodate larger vessels. The beam-free interior of a metal Quonset hut will give you 100 percent usable space to store brewing and distilling equipment.  Plus, the unobstructed space gives you the ability to design your own brewery floor plan to make your operation the most efficient.

Not only does the column-free interior allow you store your product, you can also store beverage production equipment, including:

  • Cellar tanks
  • Beer stripping stills, mash tuns and fermenters
  • Corking or bottling machines
  • Wine presses and pumps
  • Beer boilers and chillers
  • Grain handling systems
  • Specialty craft brewing vessels like hop backs, decoction pots, etc.
  • Cleaning and sanitation equipment
  • And more!
Three Brothers Distillery

Three Brothers Distillery

Dave Reavis’ 1,400 square foot distillery gives him plenty of room to produce Silk Jacket, a Naval strength compound gin; Kablam, unaged corn whiskey and George Straight Rye Whiskey.

Dave, his two brothers, and a few dedicated friends worked tirelessly to build his dream Quonset hut distillery in Virginia. It took Dave and his team just a few days to erect the arches of his structure. They opted to design their own wooden endwalls, which they painted bright red to contrast with the bright steel arches.

Brewery Emperial

Brewery Emperial

Brewery Emperial combined the steel arches with the cinder blocks to create a cool, urban atmosphere at their Kansas City location.

The prefabricated steel arches house the brewhouse cellar and fermentation tanks on the north side of the business. On the south side, there’s an open-air Biergarten that is enclosed by metal shipping containers.
