Steel Aircraft Hangars For Private Planes & Aviation Industry
Protecting aircraft and aviation equipment can be expensive and challenging so it’s nice that you can rely on the highly skilled building specialists at SteelMaster to help you find the perfect aviation storage solution for you.
For planes and airports in any application, we help research and design some of the best quality airport buildings or private hangers you can buy.
For Any Sized Airport, Any Size Aircraft, Any Aviation Building Application
SteelMaster has a variety of styles and models available to suit any aesthetic preference and budget. Our prefabricated aircraft hangars are available in widths ranging from 10′ to 150′ and in virtually any length, meaning we’re able to accommodate any size of aircraft and can be used both for individuals with private planes as well as international airports with vast storage needs.
In fact, our talented team of commercial engineers has designed airport buildings for companies and localities around the world. SteelMaster was responsible for the design and manufacturing of the Malta International Airport in Europe. The “S Model” steel building is 100 feet wide, 47 feet tall, and 82 feet long. The new facility received its first aircraft, a Bombardier CL-600 Challenger 604 (OE-INY) of VistaJet, the day after it was unveiled by Malta’s prime minister at the time.
One of the greatest benefits of SteelMaster’s airport designs is the 100% clear span design. Arch-style buildings do not require the use of beams or trusses to support the weight of the structure like a straight wall building would. The arch is self-supporting, which leaves plenty of space to store several aircraft and more room to build other areas for storage and maintenance.
It’s easy to meet a specific deadline when you construct a metal hangar from SteelMaster. All of our buildings are pre-drilled and pre-punched at our factory once you’ve submitted your order, making construction much easier and quicker for crews on your job site.
Our prefab airport building kits only require the use of one size bolt and one size nut to construct. The ease of construction reduces labor costs associated with building a commercial or residential hangar and the time it takes to erect the structure.
Durable Airport Buildings to Keep Your Planes and Equipment Safe
Another great benefit of owning an aircraft hangar or airport from SteelMaster is the strength and durability of our buildings.
Our buildings are made with high-quality, commercial-grade steel that has the ability to resist damage from extreme weather events. This significantly reduces maintenance costs while you own the building.
Each steel panel is corrugated, adding even more strength to the entire structure. On top of that, we back every building with a trusted 40-year warranty. Every arch comes with a special Galvalume Plus coating which protects it from the harmful rays of the sun and prevents it from rusting over time.
SteelMaster Buildings is responsible for the design and manufacturing of the buildings used on the OPBAT base, including the “S Model” steel structure with a bi-fold door where the helicopters are stored.
The steel buildings counter the effects of the area’s salty air because steel does not rot, warp, shrink, and it’s non-combustible. Because of their disaster resistant properties, a SteelMaster building’s strength resists fire, earthquake, and hurricane damage, which is critical at the OPBAT base in Exuma because of the frequent occurrence of major storms to that area of the world.
Any of our models can be designed to accommodate extra heavy snow loads in areas that experience frequent snowstorms, including the Telluride Airport in Colorado. The airport purchased both a hangar and a smaller storage building from SteelMaster.
Customizable Airplane Hangar Buildings At Any Scale
SteelMaster buildings can be customized been used in virtually every aviation application. We’ve worked with NASA to house multi-million dollar space technology and with individual plane owners just looking for a secure, long-lasting solution to keeping their aircraft safe. The versatility of the design of a Quonset hut paired with the strength of corrugated steel all in a package that can be assembled by hand has made our buildings a favorite of the aviation industry and individuals alike.
