Ever wonder what it’s like to live in a SteelMaster Quonset Hut^TM? You can get the experience, even if only for a few days, in a Quonset Hut at True North in Detroit, Michigan.

True North is an award-winning Quonset Hut village consisting of nine prefabricated Quonset Huts in the Core City neighborhood. Edwin Chan teamed up with developer Philip Kafka to create the unique steel Quonset Hut village through his real estate company called Prince Concepts.

The buildings are at different angles and in different shapes and sizes to create open, outdoor spaces to enhance the community feel of the area.

You’ll find air conditioning in the summer, and radiant heated concrete floors in the winter to keep things just right. Our home includes a large and extremely well-appointed kitchen, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom (loft) with a queen-sized bed. Our standalone building (one of 9 on the property) is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just minutes away from anything you’d want to do in the city.

You’ll find a single bedroom in the sleeping loft. It has a beautifully comfortable queen bed, dresser, and bench, as well as a 46″ HDTV w/ Roku (Netflix provided, and other accounts available using your own login). Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, sink, and any towels and amenities you’ll need to make your stay perfect.

Our main living space includes a dining room table with four chairs, as well as a sitting area with a couch and two lounge chairs. Needing to get some work done? We’ve got a desk for that. Want some tunes? We’ve gone one of the finest turntables on the market, made right here in Detroit with a selection of our favorite tunes (just be kind to her)!

Slide open the massive French doors to reveal our back patio. The outdoor space includes a large area that will soon contain a farm table under our strung cafe lights. Enjoy our slice of heaven and “backyard” with some drinks and indoor/outdoor living that our Quonset Hut brings to the table.
