Container Cover Provides Functionality to Charleston Business

HIMALAYA 4×4 is the premier Land Rover restoration and modification specialist on the East Coast. Their talented team specializes in everything from mechanics, electrical, paint, and upholstery.

Brothers Greg and James Shondel founded the business about seven years ago in Charleston, South Carolina.

“It all started from a love of Land Rovers,” Greg said.

Both Greg and James have always had a passion for Land Rovers and are living out their dream of modernizing vintage Land Rovers while maintaining their integrity.

Additionally, Greg also has always liked the aesthetic of vintage aircraft hangars and shipping containers. He already had shipping containers on their property, therefore, it was a “no brainer” to utilize a container cover as a roof.

When he learned that SteelMaster was local, he decided to give us a call.

Greg and James found a local crew to install the container cover. The crew was able to install it in only four days!

“It looks great and is functional. The way our business is growing we needed something fast. A traditional building would have taken too long to build and we’re bursting at the seams, so it was a great solution,” Greg said.

HIMALAYA uses the container cover as a covered workspace during the hot Charleston days.

“It gets hot here so its key to get the guys out of the sun and keeps the trucks out of the elements,” Greg explained.

Greg and James report that they had a positive experience with SteelMaster.

“Everyone was responsive and got us the design blueprints quickly. And the product was aesthetically pleasing and just kind of checked a lot of the boxes for us,” Greg said.

HIMALAYA plans to expand to a second location as their business continues to grow.
