DIY Building Kit Options
The size you choose for your metal building is largely determined by the land you have available, the building application and your budget. Typically we suggest getting the largest size building possible because the marginal cost of adding additional square footage is negligible compared to the extra space. Regardless, you can always add and expand to your Quonset hut.
Endwall Configuration
Most building packages, aside from some agricultural or simple coverall bulk storage applications, include selecting an endwall for the non-arch portions of your walls. Endwalls can range from secure steel walls to custom-designed and decorated entrances. Quonset kits allow you to choose the level of curb appeal for your metal building.

Insulation
Many Quonset huts don’t require insulation. However, if you live in an area that has extreme hot or cold weather and you plan on spending substantial time in your building, you may opt for several different insulation options.

Erecting your Quonset hut arches can be as simple as using tools commonly found at your local hardware store and one type of nut and bolt for the arches of your building.

I just have purchased a building thru SteelMaster Buildings and am very satisfied how things have gone and the knowledge Mike had answering all our questions. One thing everyone needs to pencil out is what you get for your money. I looked at other Rv covers and for the price they list is frame and roof. Then if you want walls , end walls , engineered drawings and etc it’s all extras. With SteelMasters it’s one package and I liked that. More updates when building arrives.

The SteelMaster staff have been very helpful in everything from helping determine what modle and size would work out best for me, engineering checked everything to make sure we had the right thickness of material for my area. I have not received my building yet but the people at SteelMaster are very kind and work very efficiently between departments. The process has worked like clockwork. Great communication with the end user / customer. I look forward to working further with them throughout the process.
My experiance at Steel Masters was excellent. Noah knew the answer immediately to every question we had. We were able to text with him so he could send us specs and pictures right away. He also sent some step by step construction pictures. We live on an island and he worked with us to figure out delivery to the ferry. Our transaction was done electronically which made it so easy. It was also more than half off! I'd recommend them if you are looking at a steel structure of any kind. We can't wait to get our building.
The purchase was easy. They gave a lot of information, including blueprints for the building and suggested way to put together, tie down and concrete slab blueprints. Just be carful if you receive your building after business hours or on a weekend, you must pay with check. The driver doesn’t have a way to run a credit/debit card and there is a fee if you do.

Steel Master sent me literature and after discussion with Sales people, bought a larger XA building. Building arrived on three pallets, one rather heavy but unloading went fine. As a builder we cleared site and poured footing from the certified plans provided. Building was erected by a steel erection crew and we finished slush in of base.

From the inception of our idea of owning a Quonset home my husband and I have had an overall great experience with SteelMaster and their liaisons. The liaisons were easy to get in touch with and were very helpful and responsive with our questions and concerns.
Had fun assembling Quonset hut. My brother, his wife and my wife and I put it together in a day. Following instructions is important. Lengths of angle iron supplied helped space sections as we built. I milled my own lumber to build the end walls. I had leftover wood and metal for end wall siding.

Wasn’t able to purchase BUT never had someone try so hard to help…Nick did his best to work out the best deal with the best quality… Nick went to bat more than once, unfortunately I was not able to come through on my end. Steel Masters seemed to me to be a family oriented company. Keep up the good work !!!
