Oil & Natural Gas Structures: Portable Kits For The Energy Industry

Because the energy industry is so varied, there are several features that are important to our clients. One of the most important features is durability. The strength of SteelMaster’s heavy-grade steel buildings adds to its lasting value. Our metal buildings are made with no less than 22 gauge steel, which is thicker and stronger than the standard 26 gauge steel used by many of our competitors. This makes it easy for our structures to handle the bumps and bangs that come with working buildings.

Why Choose SteelMaster?

SteelMaster’s experienced team of project managers will work with you to create a custom building that will meet your company’s specific needs.

Easy expansion

An advantage of purchasing a SteelMaster Quonset Hut is its easy expansion. Whether you need to increase your production capacity or extra storage space, you can easily add more room to your building. To expand, simply purchase additional arches and add them to your building.

Rapid construction time

Getting operations up and running quickly is important in the energy industry. Our metal energy production buildings arrive ready to assemble and will meet or exceed local code requirements. Many energy companies have their own crews erect their SteelMaster structures, which reduces both construction time and costs.

Galvalume Plus

All SteelMaster buildings are made of at least 80 percent recycled steel. Our arches are covered in a special coating called Galvalume Plus, which helps protect the steel and makes our buildings more energy efficient. The steel coating does not require painting or maintenance and repels light, keeping inside temperatures 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than the outside air.

SteelMaster's Presence in the Energy Industry

Whether you need a natural gas processing plant building or a place to store your drilling equipment and tools, SteelMaster has you covered. Our customized buildings are a popular choice in the energy industry.

American Energy Partners

American Energy Partners, an oil and natural gas operating and asset management company, came to SteelMaster when they wanted a custom corporate gym facility for AEP employees and their friends and family.  Oklahoma City typically experiences strong winds and dangerous hail storms, and the company knew SteelMaster’s buildings could serve as the ultimate protective shield.

AEP wanted special curved panels that did not include the normal pre-punched holes for bolts. They used custom 18 gauge steel to put on top of a superstructure they erected.  SteelMaster had to completely change its fabrication process to make the specialized panels without the bolt holes. This required crews in our factory to stop the machines during the process to ensure that each panel was made to the customer’s specifications. These special panels bolted together created the 99-foot-wide, 37-foot-tall, 18-foot-long solid steel, semi-circular structure that gives this facility its unique look and strength.

The state-of-the-art fitness facility opened in October 2015 and had a basketball court, two racquetball courts, a rock climbing wall and two floors with weights and cardio machines. A few years later, the gym shut down and was sold to the Oklahoma City Ballet. It is now the home for the OKC Ballet’s professional dance company, its administrative offices and ballet school.

ExxonMobil

ExxonMobil

ExxonMobil uses a SteelMaster metal building at its natural gas processing plant in western Colorado’s Piceance Basin. According to their website, ExxonMobil has interest in approximately 300,000 acres in the Piceance Basin.

This holds a potential recoverable resource of more than 45 trillion cubic feet of gas over the life of the project, which is enough natural gas to power 50 million homes for almost a decade. SteelMaster’s durable buildings can help ExxonMobil store equipment for this project for years to come.
