Mike Harmon
National Sales Manager
Years at SteelMaster: 5 years
Specialty: Extreme weather prone environments, homes and custom projects, state of Alaska, California & Colorado
Mike Harmon has been a National Sales Manager at SteelMaster buildings for five years. He has sold many types of buildings ranging from homes, garages, workshops and more!
Mike specializes in assisting customers in areas that are prone to heavy snow and wind loads.
Mike said, “Alaska snow loads can range from 20 to 300+ psf, so I like being able to give the customer reassurance that we are taking care of their needs. I’m able to give them peace of mind that their building will be able to withstand through the elements of the area.”
In addition to assisting customers with their projects, Mike says the company culture is one of his favorite aspects of his career.
“It’s a family environment here. You’re not a number, your input matters.”
Notable Projects
Home in Paradise, California
When wildfires tore through Paradise, California, SteelMaster customer Melissa knew she wanted a home that is more durable than the traditional building.
Both Melissa’s home and garage are made with all steel components.
Mike explains, “The front and back walls are fire-rated components that serve the same function as the rest of the building. So, unlike a traditional building that uses wood components, this is all steel and rock and it limits how much combustible materials are on the building.”
Garage in Joshua Tree, California
SteelMaster customer contacted SteelMaster looking for a garage. He chose a Q-Model with a custom glass sliding door that allows plenty of natural light.
“Just like every SteelMaster building, it is coated with Galvalume Plus, which has reflective properties. This allows the sun to reflect off the exterior of the building, which makes the interior about 15 degrees cooler than the exterior,” Mike explains.
