Finding the Right Size for Your Perfect Quonset Hut Garage

Portable Metal Garages:
Portable, Liftable Steel Garage Kits

How much space does your property have and how much space do you need? SteelMaster offers several garage packages that can be easily customized to your specifications.

Our metal garage kits start at 20’ feet wide and go up to about 40’. This is more than enough space to fit two cars!

Every SteelMaster model allows customers the freedom to expand the length of their garages as desired. These buildings are both versatile and and durable. They are also built tough enough to survive some of the harshest weather conditions.

Size was one of the most important factors when Sleepy Hollow’s Department of Public Works in New York was looking for a building to protect their 1994 Mack Ladder truck. Their previous building was too small for the massive fire engine; that’s when they contacted SteelMaster Buildings for help.

They needed a building that was durable, affordable and spacious. They found all that they were looking for in a SteelMaster garage. They even had their volunteer crew work together to construct the building, which saved them a ton of money in construction costs.

Our prefab garages come in standard widths and lengths including 24 x 24, 24 x 30, 30 x 30, 30 x 40 and 40 x 60. The length is determined in 2’ increments and can be adjusted to alter the size of the building in the future.

Whether you need space for one, two, or three cars, we have a prefabricated, ready-to-assemble garage kit available. We ensure that every model in our inventory will meet all of your local building codes including wind, snow and seismic activity. Further, quonset garages are disaster resistant. Unlike traditional straight wall buildings that can crumble under extreme conditions, SteelMaster’s buildings are durable at any size.

The A-model, which was created by SteelMaster in 1992, is great for any garage, backyard shop or general storage building. They have a 4:12 pitched roof line and high sidewall clearance. They come in sizes from 16′ to 32′ wide.

Another great option is the S-Model. This is the perfect option for those who want to build storage sheds, warehouses, equipment covers and more. The width spans from 10′ to 100′ and the length is unlimited. All of SteelMaster’s garage buildings include a special protective coating called Galvalume Plus. This Energy Star-rated resin helps to make the building more energy efficient and protects it from rust and corrosion over time.

If you live in an area that experiences heavy snow loads, the X-Model is the solution for you. We created this option for customers who still wanted the 4:12 pitched roof style without having to worry about a roof collapse. Customers who want to build garages, workshops and storage buildings typically choose this model. They can be created in widths from 20’ to 100’.

One of the more popular options is the classic Q-model. This model is based off of the classic Quonset Hut, half-cylinder design that is by far one of the strongest structures on earth. This design was used in the Military over 75 years ago, and it remains one of the most used designs.

Looking to build your own Quonset Hut garage, but you’re unsure about the size that you need?

SteelMaster’s building specialists are here to help you select the right size garage package to fit your needs and your budget.
