Having been a part of the Hampton Roads community for over 28 years, SteelMaster likes to give back to the area as often as possible. This year, SteelMaster worked with a local organization called ForKids. Through the program, we adopted a room in their “Haven House” (the first step for homeless families). The room will provide a family with the support they need to begin rebuilding their lives as they complete a program the organization has designed to address basic stability issues.

ForKids was founded over 20 years ago by local citizens in the Ocean View neighborhood of Norfolk. After several years, they began receiving grants to renovate buildings in order to provide additional housing. They began developing more programs to help throughout the community (such as Hot Meals and Homework and the Homeless Family Hotline and Central Intake System).
