One “Brain Surgeon’s” Dream Steel Building
My first attempt to reach James “Everette” Sheffield was interesting, to say the least. Although not reached, his voice mail greeting made my day, “Hello. This is the voice mailbox of James Sheffield. I’m not available because I’m either performing brain surgery on one of my students, or just not available at the moment. But leave a message, and I’ll call you back.”
Oh… this is going to be good, I thought.
SteelMaster already knew the sort of fellow Everette (he’s a first-name basis kind of guy) was from his emails. Basically, SteelMaster building envy has been the root of a friendly family rivalry. Everette based his decision to purchase his 30′ x 40′ SteelMaster Building after admiring his brother-in-law’s, who had already submitted several photos of his completed steel arch building to SteelMaster’s Annual Photo Contest. He became a PIS, or “Partner in Steel”. Once Everette got in on the action, he couldn’t let his brother-in-law have one up on him. He questioned, “Where’s my coffee cup and calendar? I don’t even drink coffee, but my brother-in-law keeps rubbing all his SteelMaster stuff in my face! Plus, I want to be in your club too!”
Not so much a friendly family rivalry anymore. It’s now a quest.
We cannot help but admire and agree with Everette’s enthusiasm. He has taken over 200 pictures of his SteelMaster Building! When reached by phone for comment, he sounded like the kind of person one would want to grab a cup of coffee with. He seemed like a down to earth, hard-working, no nonsense kind of guy – (except for his keen sense of humor). Of course, SteelMaster customers are just cool like that. This is the way they roll. They know quality, expect value for their hard-earned money, and appreciate SteelMaster’s customer service. Suffice it to say, they don’t just love SteelMaster, they are “in love” with their custom buildings.
Everette said, matter-of-factly, “Mine is a shop which has been 27 years in the making. SteelMaster was the best choice for me and my family because their steel arched buildings are durable, functional and aesthetically appealing. My brother-in-law has one as well as my wife’s cousin, so I could see the way the building was built, up close and personal. The pride and joy of my building is the I-Beam chain hoist and loft which we planned and installed after the building was erected. It was not difficult to construct… not like brain surgery or anything. This is a dream come true.”
Everette is resident of Asheboro, NC and teaches agriculture and mechanics at Southwestern Randolph. He hopes to retire in two and a half years and use his SteelMaster Building for metal working and light mechanics. He actually paid a couple of his students to assist a local contractor with the assembly of his “dream”.
SteelMaster’s steel and metal pre-engineered buildings are designed for a broad range of residential and commercial applications including homes, farm buildings, garages, workshops, agricultural storage, Quonsets, airplane hangars, RV storage, roofing systems, carports, military buildings, commercial warehousing, and industrial storage as well as a wide variety of custom building applications including athletic facilities, retail stores, churches, bus stops, smoke shacks, doggie dorms, and correctional facilities.
Other than the above-cited types of specialty SteelMaster Buildings, after talking with Everette, perhaps adding “Dream Buildings” would not be too much of a stretch.
“Whether it is a unique application for our standard metal buildings or a dream design that requires additional support from our design team, SteelMaster has decades of steel building experience in solving building and design challenges,” adds Michelle Wickum, Director of Marketing. “Our strong yet versatile clear span building design allows us to meet the needs of a wide range of custom steel building applications.”
SteelMaster would be remiss if we did not elaborate on Everette’s surgical inference. It does not take a brain surgeon to figure out the SteelMaster difference. Quality, Service, Durability, Functionality, Integrity… if you can dream it, SteelMaster can design it.
SteelMaster sincerely wishes Everette many years of putting his SteelMaster Building to good use once he retires. You deserve the dream, sir.
