SteelMaster HomeIs it an igloo? A space station? Nope, it’s a SteelMaster house!

This remodeled home located in Sag Harbor, NY was featured in HOME Magazine. When owners Barbara Smith and Dan Gasby purchased their beach bungalow, it was old and deteriorating. After working with architect Harry Fischman of Southampton Engineering, they decided on using two SteelMaster arch buildings to create “a 21st-century ranch house with an attitude.”

While corrugated steel building systems are normally thought of for industrial purposes, the use in a home can not only be energy-efficient, but also aesthetically pleasing. The owners loved the double-barrel design that Fischman created for them. One of the key features of the house is actually a bridge within the larger arch, which rises 34 feet above the living room. It stretches from a spiral staircase in the foyer to a rooftop deck.
