Gary Dunn won a $500 Home Depot gift card in May, and all it took was a simple click of his finger.

Dunn and 50 other hopeful contestants snapped photos of their SteelMaster steel buildings and submitted their entries to SteelMaster’s 2009 photo contest, announced May 6, 2009. The company, which is headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA, is a manufacturer and seller of premium quality pre-engineered arched steel and metal buildings and roofing systems. In a quest to discover their customers’ unique applications for their structures, SteelMaster invited its “Partners in Steel” to enter the contest for the chance to win in a snap.

Approximately 1,000 members strong, Partners in Steel is SteelMaster’s referral program designed to encourage existing clients to refer friends, family and neighbors who are interested in purchasing a steel building. “We know how much pride our Partners in Steel members have in their buildings, and the photo contest was their chance to show their work off and earn money and prizes,” says Michelle Wickum, Marketing Director for SteelMaster Buildings.

At his wife’s encouragement, Dunn submitted photos of his steel garage / workshop, which he and his uncle built in 2007. “I used the same materials that I had used to build my home to have a custom look,” says Dunn. “This is the main reason I went with SteelMaster—I wanted everything to match what I already had. It sure is nice to be able to go out to the shop where everything is dry and in its place.”
The winning photo shows Dunn’s home, garage and SteelMaster shop set against the snowy back drop of Central North Carolina in December 2008. “My uncle and I worked about two to three hours a day when we had the chance, and it took us about three weeks to complete,” says Dunn, who chose to purchase a SteelMaster product because of its strength and ease of installation. “We did the work ourselves with no other help. If you can read directions, then you will have no problems.”

“The photo contest was a tremendous opportunity for us to see how our customers design unique customizations and applications of our building products.” says Wickum. “We work with our customers so closely from project conception through construction, that to see their building projects in their fully finished state brings us such a sense of pride in the work we do. For the contest, a judging panel reviewed all of the submitted photos and found that Mr. Dunn’s building best represented the spirit of SteelMaster.”

The photo contest runner-up winners received SteelMaster merchandise, and their photos are displayed on the company’s newly-launched website www.steelmasterusa.com, which features a comprehensive, user-friendly and interactive platform.

The photos are prime examples of SteelMaster’s steel and metal pre-engineered buildings which are designed for a broad range of residential and commercial applications including Garages, Workshops, Carports, Agricultural Storage, Metal Barns, Quonsets, Green Buildings, Airplane Hangars, RV Storage, Roofing Systems, Storage Buildings, Military Buildings, Commercial Warehousing, and Industrial Storage as well as a wide variety of Custom Building applications including Athletic Facilities, Retail Stores, Churches, Bus Stops, Smoke Shacks, Doggie Dorms and Correctional Facilities.

SteelMaster buildings are engineered for life and backed with a 30-year warranty from ArcelorMittal Dofasco steel mill. Their pre-fabricated clear span buildings provide 100% usable space, along with ease of construction and hassle-free maintenance. Through common ownership, SteelMaster owns the factory where its buildings are engineered, designed and manufactured which allows the company to set the highest quality standards for Steel Buildings in the industry.

Congratulations Gary!  We were happy to reward you and all of our runners-up for taking your SteelMaster and making it your own!
