What makes a SteelMaster Metal Carport so unique?
The SteelMaster Carport is unique to other carports on the market due to the ability to withstand all climate weather conditions while utilizing technology and the simplicity of the design perfected with our buildings. The SteelMaster Carport utilizes the technological advancements of our buildings translated into a carport structure.
Is a SteelMaster Carport a Do-It-Yourself project?
You bet they are DIY buildings! Every SteelMaster Steel Carport features easy-to-understand, complete illustrated assembly instructions in the construction manual. Using our one-size nut and bolt system as the only fastener and precision-fit components, erecting your new SteelMaster Carport is a SNAP!
Can I really put this Steel Carport up myself?
Absolutely! Most of our customers assemble and raise the posts, beams and panels to complete the construction of their SteelMaster Carport without a contractor. Each of our Steel Carports comes with an easy-to-read and detailed construction manual to aid in the construction of your new metal carport. Always remember that your SteelMaster Building Specialist and our Customer Service Representatives are available should you have any questions during any phase of the assembly process.
What about annual maintenance?
You don’t have to treat it, paint it, or maintain it. With a SteelMaster Carport, you just enjoy it. The Galvalume Plus coating provides years of maintenance-free use.
What are the SteelMaster Ultimate Carport uses?
The SteelMaster standard Carport has been used for traditional application such as car shelter, truck covers, RV and tractor coverage, and farm equipment protection. However, we have designed our steel carports for a variety of custom applications including bus stops, tram covers, smoke shacks, metal walkway, and boat lifts. The applications for our Carports are only limited by your imagination.
What are the sizes for the Steel Carport?
SteelMaster offers standard Metal Carport sizes from 12 feet wide up to 20 feet wide and 18 feet to 40 feet in length. Height for the steel carport varies from 9 feet to 15 feet depending on the width and length of the selected carport. We also offer carports that are completely customizable to your specific needs.
What type of foundation is required?
A pier foundation is required for the SteelMaster Ultimate Carport which is traditionally constructed with concrete. A complete concrete slab is not required for our carport applications.
How many posts are included with my Steel Carport?
Depending on the steel carport model and size selected, the number of posts included varies from 6 to 10 on our standard models.
How do I off-load my SteelMaster Carport?
In order to expedite the off-loading of your SteelMaster Metal Carport, you will need approximately 3-4 people to unload by hand or a piece of equipment such as a forklift, front-end loader, backhoe or boom truck. We recommend you wear gloves if unloading by hand because the panels are very sharp.
Can a SteelMaster Carport be enclosed?
Our Pre-Engineered Carports are designed to be an open structure. For details on enclosed buildings, please contact a Building Specialist for more information.


Is the single carport available in a 10ft wide? Can it be attached to the house?
Is it wind rated for Florida?

We have several standard carport models that are available. All of our carports are wind rated to meet your county’s wind load requirements. In addition, our buildings have received Florida state product approval. A project specialist will be contact with you soon to discuss your options.
